COBDEN, Ill. -- Stanley P. Acklin, 75, Cobden Route 2, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Jan. 2, 1919, in Anna, son of Andrew and Eva Greene Acklin Sr. He and Ruby C. Spiller were married Oct. 1, 1948, in Cobden.
Acklin was a carpenter with Illinois Central Railroad 38 years. He was a member of Cobden Masonic Lodge 466 AF&AM.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jane Baggott of Harbor Springs, Mich.; three brothers, Ed Acklin of Cobden, Howard Acklin of Anna, Andrew Acklin of Jonesboro; a sister, Marie Pearson of Cobden; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 6 p.m. today. Masonic service will be held at 7:30.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lee Wollard officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.
