SIKESTON, Mo. -- S.R. "Wes" Schuchart, 91, of Sikeston died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born May 2, 1912, in Union, Mo., son of Rudolph and Minnie Schuchart. He and Ella M. Heuiser were married on April 23, 1935, in Sikeston. She died April 30, 1999.
Schuchart was a local farmer and owner of Schuchart Holstein Dairy for many years. He was one of the original board members of Planters Bank, now First National Bank. He became one of the incorporators and stockholders in REA, now SEMO Electric. He served as Missouri Agricultural representative to various European cities in the 1970s. Schuchart was a member of the Dairyman's Association, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 3151.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Schuchart of Sikeston; a son, Daniel Schuchart of Bloomfield, Mo.; three sisters, Martha Sachs and Stella Foster, both of Arlington, Va., and Alice Howard of Sun Valley, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Monsignor Richard Rolwing officiating.
Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
