She was born Jan. 24, 1916, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of August and Louise Haertling Meyr. She was married Sept. 1, 1940, to Marvin O. Reisenbichler. He died July 9, 1982...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Sophie R. Reisenbichler, 94, of Perryville died March 19, 2010, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville.

She was born Jan. 24, 1916, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of August and Louise Haertling Meyr. She was married Sept. 1, 1940, to Marvin O. Reisenbichler. He died July 9, 1982.

Mrs. Reisenbichler was a homemaker and secretary for Perry County Farm Bureau. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown, Mo., a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, LWML, Immanuel Adult Choir, Berean Bible Class, Tuesday Noon Bible Class in Perryville, and served as LWML secretary. She enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens and baking. She played her accordion for family gatherings, friends and the nursing home birthday parties.

She is survived by one daughter, Ruth Boxdorfer of Jackson; one son, Ralph (Nancy) Reisenbichler of Perryville; two sisters, Alida (Roger) Sexton of Webster Groves, Mo., Milta (Mike) Bohlmann of St. Charles, Mo.; two grandchildren, Amy (Paul) Dunning and Steven (Kerry) Reisenbichler; a stepgrandchild, Stephen (Chris) Boxdorfer; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica Dunning.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter; two brothers, Ervin and Elton Meyr; son-in-law Marvin Boxdorfer; and stepgranddaughter Susan Boxdorfer.

Visitation for Mrs. Reisenbichler will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

She will then be taken to Immanuel Lutheran Church for a funeral service at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Longtown.

Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran School Building Fund or Immanuel radio broadcast are preferred.
