SOPHIA TRUE

ADVANCE -- Sophia M. True, 94, of Advance died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at Lafayette Grand Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Dec. 13, 1904, at Leora, daughter of Joseph and Candrice James McFerron. She and Fred True were married April 3, 1924, at Bloomfield. He preceded her in death.

True had been a teacher in the Advance area for more than 50 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Advance, a member and past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 412, and a member of the White Shrines of Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by two daughters, Clara Ruth Barton and Winifred Niswonger, both of St. Louis, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Morgan Funeral Chapel at Advance, with the Rev. Larry Greenfield officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, with special services conducted at 7 by the Order of Eastern Star.
