JONESBORO, Ill. -- Sophia Cruse, 85, of Jonesboro, died at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1991, at the Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill. She was born Jan. 27, 1906 in Jonesboro, daughter of Gustave and Elizabeth Animus Rudert. She married Festus Cruse on July 10, 1932. He died Feb. 3, 1989...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Sophia Cruse, 85, of Jonesboro, died at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1991, at the Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

She was born Jan. 27, 1906 in Jonesboro, daughter of Gustave and Elizabeth Animus Rudert.

She married Festus Cruse on July 10, 1932. He died Feb. 3, 1989.

She was a homemaker and member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Jonesboro.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth Cruse of Cobden, Ill.; a daughter, Wreatha Miles of St. Louis; two brothers, Fred Rudert of Peoria, Ill., and Albert Rudert of Shelbyville, Ill.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today at Norris and Son Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Schrack officiating. Burial will be in the McGinnis Cemetery east of Anna.
