PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Oliver R. "Skipper" Payne, 53, of Perryville died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, in Forrest City, Ark.
He was born Dec. 25, 1955, in Perry County, son of Merlin and Thelma Wilson Payne. He and JoAnn Riehn were married April 19, 1975.
Payne was a truck driver with Ozark Trucking.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Becky Zeigler and Betsy Pease of Perryville; four brothers, Merlin Payne of Powderly, Texas, David Payne of Highland, Mo., Johnny Payne of Fenton, Mo., Woodie Payne of Greenwood, S.C.; four sisters, Barbara Mays and Shirley Lievsay of Arnold, Mo., Patty Bauman of Auxvasse, Mo., Mary Byrd of Warrenton, Mo.; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a grandson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. until time of service Sunday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. A wake will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating.
The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Tom Anderson officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, Mo.
