LEOPOLD, Mo. -- Funeral Mass for Sister Joanne Seiler will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mary of the Angels Convent Chapel in Richmond Heights, Mo. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in St. Louis.
Seiler, 92, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at the convent.
She was born Wilhelmina Anna Seiler March 7, 1909, at Leopold.
Seiler joined the congregation, now known as the Franciscan Sisters of Mary, in 1933 and professed her final vows in 1939.
She was a nurse at St. Mary's Health Center in St. Louis 22 years; at St. Mary's Infirmary three years; and at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital 17 years, where she was also administrative assistant three years.
Seiler coordinated the auxiliary at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City, Mo., nine years. After retiring in 1985, she volunteered at the health center until 1999 and then devoted her time to prayer intercessor ministry.
Survivors include two sisters, Margaret Delia of Hazelwood, Mo., and Marie VanDeVen of Leopold.
