PARMA -- Sidney Thomas, 59, of Parma died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born Oct. 27, 1939, in Hughes, Ark., son of Charlie and Rosie Lee Landers Thomas. He and Katherlene Exson were married Nov. 17, 1957, in Mansfield, Ohio...

PARMA -- Sidney Thomas, 59, of Parma died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Oct. 27, 1939, in Hughes, Ark., son of Charlie and Rosie Lee Landers Thomas. He and Katherlene Exson were married Nov. 17, 1957, in Mansfield, Ohio.

Thomas was a farm laborer, and deacon at Mt. Calvary Church. He had lived at Parma the past 29 years.

Survivors include his wife; six sons, Randy Williams of Memphis, Tenn., John and Sidney Edwards and Andrew Thomas, all of Nettleton, Miss., Albert Thomas of Soledad, Calif., James Thomas of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three daughters, Sidney Bell of Fotted Ridge, Md., Alice Thomas and Floura Myers of Parma.

Also surviving are five brothers, Steve, Frank, Percy, Bob and Gene Thomas, all of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters, Linda and Lolly Thomas of Detroit; his stepmother, Roxanne Thomas of Detroit; 15 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons.

Friends may call at the Community Building after 1 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Community Building, with Floyd Wade officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.

Watkins and Sons Funeral Home at Parma is in charge of arrangements.
