THEBES -- Sidney "Red" Callis, 83, of Thebes and formerly of Miller City, died Thursday Feb. 2, 1995 at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.
He was born Sept. 19, 1911 at Charleston, the son of Sidney and Lillie Romaine Callis. He was married to the former Martha Waterman, who survives.
Other survivors include: one son, Mike Callis of Hecker, Ill.; two daughters, Judy Tanksley of McAllen, Texas, and Cynthia Rivet of Thebes; one step-daughter, Betty Williams of Thebes; one step-son, Don Williams of Olive Branch; one brother, Joe Callis of Columbia, Ill.; two sisters, Frances Campbell of Dupo, Ill., and Mary Tygett of Millstadt, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, one brother and three sisters.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Olive Branch.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Assembly of God Church in Olive Branch, with Rev. Carl Hester and Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Baumgard Cemetery at Miller City.
