MCCLURE, Ill. -- Sidney Dillon, 92, of McClure died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 16, 1908, in Huntingburg, Ind., son of Bert and Eva Garrett Dillon. He Married Delia Waterman at Reynoldsville, Ill., on Oct. 6, 1928. She preceded him in death Nov. 8, 1967...

MCCLURE, Ill. -- Sidney Dillon, 92, of McClure died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 16, 1908, in Huntingburg, Ind., son of Bert and Eva Garrett Dillon. He Married Delia Waterman at Reynoldsville, Ill., on Oct. 6, 1928. She preceded him in death Nov. 8, 1967.

He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Masonic Lodge 111 of Jonesboro, Ill. He was a resident of McClure most of his life and had worked as an operating engineer in Local 318 for 55 years.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Dillon and his wife, Patsy, of McClure; one brother, William Dillon of Valley Center, Kan.; one sister, Faye White of Cloverdale, Calif.; one granddaughter, Cheryl (and husband, Scott) Miller of Tamms, Ill.; one grandson, Kevin L. Dillon of McClure; one great-grandson, Joshua Miller of Tamms.; one great-granddaughter, Kristin (and husband Mike) Caldwell of Tamms; and one great-great-grandson, Wyatt Caldwell of Tamms.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and three brothers.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home. Masonic services will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be held at Ford and Son Sprigg Street Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Monday, the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Burial will follow at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.

The family requests memorial contributions go to the Kidney Foundation.
