Shirley Versheldon

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Shirley Ann Versheldon, 60, of Perryville died Monday, May 14, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 16, 1946, in St. Louis, daughter of Clyde and Kathryn Ludwig Layton. She and John Versheldon were married Feb. 19, 1966.

Versheldon was a quality leader technician at TG Missouri Corp. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include her husband; a son, John Versheldon of Perryville; her father and stepmother, Clyde and Lorene Layton of Fredericktown, Mo.; a sister, Linda Brewer of Brewer, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, a brother and a sister.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The parish wake will be at 5:30 today.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
