Shirley Ann Tiehes, 61, 2216 Brookwood, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997, at her home. She was born Dec. 16, 1935, in Perryville, daughter of Herbert and Clara Hoffstetter Sandler. She and Robert Tiehes were married Dec. 25, 1953, at Perryville. Tiehes moved to Cape Girardeau in 1968 from Perryville. She had been an election judge 30 years...

Shirley Ann Tiehes, 61, 2216 Brookwood, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997, at her home.

She was born Dec. 16, 1935, in Perryville, daughter of Herbert and Clara Hoffstetter Sandler. She and Robert Tiehes were married Dec. 25, 1953, at Perryville.

Tiehes moved to Cape Girardeau in 1968 from Perryville. She had been an election judge 30 years.

She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, the choir, and Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She had held all offices within the zone.

Tiehes had been a volunteer at Southeast Missouri Hospital since 1982, member of an extension club, former garden club member, and was formerly active in Trinity Lutheran Parent-Teacher League.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Rick Tiehes of Jackson, Tenn.; two daughters, Karen S. Drury of Cape Girardeau, Patti Niswonger of Munford, Tenn.; two sisters, Betty Kempff of Spokane, Wash., Lawana House of Perryville; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Church, with the Rev. Jeffrey Sippy officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Perryville.
