Shirley Ann Russell, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, July 26, 2013, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews, Mo. She was born Feb. 1, 1938, in Randles to Floyd David and Amy Grace McNeely Bond. Shirley received her bachelor's degree in 1988 and master's degree in 1990 from Southeast Missouri State University. Shirley Ann Russell, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, July 26, 2013, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews, Mo.

She was born Feb. 1, 1938, in Randles to Floyd David and Amy Grace McNeely Bond.

Shirley received her bachelor's degree in 1988 and master's degree in 1990 from Southeast Missouri State University. She first taught at Meadow Heights School and then taught at Southeast Missouri State University. She retired from teaching in 2003 from Missouri Street Christian Academy in West Memphis, Ark.

She was a member of Mount Auburn Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Allen Christopher Mansker of Oran, Mo., and David L. (Christy) Russell of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Winchester of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Linda Townsend of Jacksonville, Fla., and Brenda Doza of Jackson; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Lee Bond; a sister, Ada Werner; and a grandchild, Christian Douglas Russell.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Fruitland.

Memorial contributions may be given to charity of donor's choice.
