Shirley Wayne Lindsey, 77, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully Friday, April 1, 2016, at home with his family by his side.
He was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Mississippi County, Missouri, to Shirley Edward and Rhoda Mansfield Lindsey. He and Marilyn Wilson were married Aug. 25, 1956.
Shirley worked for McDonald Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis, Procter & Gamble for 20 1/2 years and owned and operated Lindsey's Jewelry in Jackson for 20 years. He was a member and deacon of Iona Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Cape Girardeau; daughter Monte (Don) Seabaugh of Lee's Summit, Missouri; sister Ida (Jim) Lake of Dearborn, Missouri; grandchildren Jeromie (Julie) Rainey and their children, Evan and Eli of South Carolina, Travis Rainey of Boston, Joshua Rainey of Cape Girardeau and Benjamin and Landon Seabaugh of Lee's Summit; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter JoAnn Lindsey Rainey; and brother W.L. Lindsey.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. noon Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at noon Monday at the funeral Home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
