SIKESTON, Mo. -- Shirley Ann Barnes, 38, of Sikeston died Friday, June 9, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Aug. 6, 1961, in Drew, Miss., daughter of Ivory Tillman of Tampa Bay, Fla., and Nellie Mae Wells of Sikeston. She and Gus Barnes Jr. were married July 7, 1992...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Shirley Ann Barnes, 38, of Sikeston died Friday, June 9, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 6, 1961, in Drew, Miss., daughter of Ivory Tillman of Tampa Bay, Fla., and Nellie Mae Wells of Sikeston. She and Gus Barnes Jr. were married July 7, 1992.

Barnes was a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston and served on the kitchen committee.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Aaron Barnes of Sikeston; two daughters, Jessica Stewart and Micaela Barnes of Sikeston; six sisters, Bobbie Jones of Wichita, Kan., Emma Smith of Columbia, Fonda Thomas of St. Louis, Melissa Tillman of Fort Knox, Ky., Joann Tillman of Cape Girardeau, and Willie Tillman of Sikeston; seven brothers, Authur Tillman, Willie Tillman and Ivory Tillman Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Sammy Hinton, Johnnie Wells and Leroy Tillman of Columbia, and James Tillman of Atlanta, Ga.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Missionary Church.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. L. J. Nabors officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.

Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
