Sheryl Ann Kain, 63, of Fruitland died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 19, 1942, in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of Robert and Macel Miller Van Gorp. She first married Larry Foote in 1983 in Cape Girardeau. He died May 5, 1992. She and Glenn Kain were married July 3, 1996, in Cape Girardeau.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Cape Girardeau. She was a graduate of beauty school in Des Moines. She worked at Cardiovascular Consultants eight years, had a restaurant on Morgan Oak and then Hobo's Restaurant on Good Hope, worked at Saint Francis Medical Center, and had owned Candy Striper Beauty Shop on Broadway.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mark Schwiesow of Oklahoma City, Okla., Bryan Schwiesow of Perryville, Mo.; three daughters, Sherry Honey of Olive Branch, Ill., Jackie Welker of Fruitland, Shelly James of Springfield, Mo.; her mother of Dallas Center, Iowa; a brother, Duane Van Gorp of Des Moines; a sister, Shirley Thomas of Des Moines; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will be Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the funerall home, with the Rev. Rodger Kiepe officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
