Sherry Ann Harris, 58, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at home, after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 6, 1945, at Caruthersville, Mo., daughter of J.T. and Gladys Simms. She married Robert E. Harris Dec. 24, 1980, in Cape Girardeau.
A loving wife, mother and daughter, she spent the last five years taking care of her mother, Gladys Simms, after her father passed away.
She loved working around her home, especially in the spring planting flowers in her yard. She was an auto upholsterer many years with a business in Cape Girardeau in the 1980s.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; two sons, Cecil W. Luten Jr. of Jackson, Anthony Dewayne Medlin Sr. of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Benjamin Thomas Luten and Andrew Joseph Luten of Jackson, Dustin Medlin, Donald Medlin, Danielle Medlin and Anthony Dewayne Medlin Jr. of St. Louis; two brothers, Charles Wayne Simms of Cape Girardeau, Stephen Joseph Simms of St. Louis; 13 nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her father, J.T. Simms, and her youngest brother, Daniel Jay Simms Sr. in 2000.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2004.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel of Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
