ORAN, Mo. -- Sherma Brashear, 97, of Oran passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 28, 1916, in Morley, Mo., to John Edward Braxton and Minnie Bell Stanley Nation.
Sherma was a member of First Baptist Church in Oran.
Survivors include a son, Tom (Sharon) Brashear of Oran; a daughter, Sondra (Charles) Trankler of Oran; two daughters-in-law, Judy Brashear of Bella Vista, Ark., and Verna Brashear of Scott City; nine grandchildren, Rick, Scott, Tony, Travis and Daniel Brashear, Steven and Brent Trankler and Becky McMillan and Barbie Simpson; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Dick and Danny Brashear; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Brashear; a grandson, Mike Brashear; seven brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Morley Cemetery in Morley, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
