Shelby Darlene Hollingworth, 67, of Villa Ridge, Ill., formerly of McClure and Cairo, said goodbye to her family and friends, this 5th day of March 2006 and danced into Heaven with Jesus, at 12:20 p.m. Sunday at her home.
Mrs. Hollingsworth was born Sept. 21, 1939, at McClure, Ill., daughter of the Rev. Robert Lewis Burchyett and the late Lawana Opal Colyer Burchyett.
Mrs. Hollingsworth was a member of the Cairo Pentecostal Church and had served as church secretary, church pianist, Sunday School teacher and had owned and operated for the past 13 years, the Hollingsworth Children's Day Care Center in Villa Ridge, Ill.
Mrs. Hollingsworth was preceded in death by her mother, Lawana Burchyett, on Jan. 19, 1989, and an infant brother, William Lewis Burchyett and infant sister, Carolyn Sue Burchyett.
Survivors include her husband, Shannon Hollingsworth of Villa Ridge; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Robert Lewis Hollingsworth Sr., and Nancy Hollingworth, of Moss Point, Miss., and Ronald and Tina Hollingworth of Villa Ridge; a daughter, Deborah Darlene Welch of Booneville, Miss., her father, the Rev. Robert Burchyett of Villa Ridge; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara Ann and Joe Smith of West Memphis, Ark., and Erma Lynn Burchyett of West Memphis, Ark.; five grandchildren, Cheri Shannon, Robert Lewis Hollingsworth Jr., Leah Nicole Welch, Jeremy Welch and Tony Lowrance; and three great-grandchildren, Kaylei Shannon, Kyle and Jocelyn Lowrance.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Cairo Pentecostal Church.
Funeral services for Shelby Hollingsworth will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cairo Pentecostal Church with the Pastor Dan McKinnies officiating. Interment will follow in the Lindsey Cemetery in McClure, Ill.
Jones Funeral Home of Villa Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
