Sheila Fay Hecht, 60, of Jackson passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, at her home. She gracefully and valiantly fought cancer the past seven years.
She was born April 27, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, to Clyde H. and Winifred Golden Sides. She and Ronald M. "Ron" Hecht were married Feb. 27, 1988.
Sheila was a 1971 graduate of Jackson High School. She was a quality control inspector at the former Tri-Con Industries in Cape Girardeau. She and Ron owned Hecht Rental Storage in Fruitland, which Sheila managed. She and Ron are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.
Loving survivors include her husband of 26 years, Ron of Jackson; four children, Donald Lee Clippard II, Amy Christine Clippard, Crystal Lynn (Wade) Guilliams, all of Jackson, and Kacie Marie Hecht and husband Stetson Sander of Oceanside, Calif.; eight grandchildren; five siblings, Mike (Margaret) Sides, Deanna Meehan, Janet Sue (Terry) Hopkins, all of Jackson, Kenneth Ray (Dorothy) Sides of Oak Ridge and Lesa Ann (Wayne) Brotherton of Millersville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Lawrence Bradt officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Hope Lodge in St. Louis. Hope Lodge is affiliated with the American Cancer Society and provides lodging accommodations to families of cancer patients.
