Shawn E. Parrish, 30, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, near Paris, Tenn., as a result of a vehicle accident.
Shawn was born Dec. 5, 1976, in Cape Girardeau, son of Buddy E. and Marsha M. Parrish.
He was a graduate of Central High School and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He was an avid ice hockey player and loved the outdoors. He spent many years in Scouting, earning the honor of Order of the Arrow and was one of the youngest Scouts to attain the Eagle Scout rank.
He was owner of Parrish Custom Tile LLC.
Survivors include a son, Hunter Allen Parrish of Cape Girardeau; his parents of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Tammy Parrish of New York City; a half sister, Penny Miller of Mattoon, Ill.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Vivian Savers of Jackson, and paternal grandparents, Yancey B. and Hilda Parrish of Cottage Grove, Tenn.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Long officiating.
An additional visitation will take place at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Burial to follow in Walker Cemetery near Paris.
