Graveside service for Shaun W. Carlile of Raleigh, N.C., was held June 1 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Fruitland. Funeral service was May 25 at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Charles Dreyer officiating.
Carlile, 31, died Friday, May 17, 1996, in Raleigh.
He was born July 31, 1964, at Bentwaters Air Force Base, England, son of Jack and Dianne Mullens Carlile. He and Laura Beth McNeely of Cape Girardeau were married Sept. 5, 1992.
A graduate of Central High School, he was an honor student and received the Lou Muegge Award during his senior year.
Carlile received a bachelor's degree from Southeast Missouri State University. A four-year varsity letterman, he received All Conference selection in track as a middle distance runner and achieved All American status. He received a master's degree from St. Louis University.
He was an associate manager in marketing at Glaxo Pharmaceutical Co. in Raleigh.
Survivors include his wife, his mother of Kirkwood, his father and maternal grandparents in England.
