Sharon Diane Oleksy of St. Louis passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024.
She was born Nov. 29, 1945, in Cape Girardeau and was preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth "Boz" and Addie Vancil, and brother, Stephen Vancil.
She is survived by her lifetime partner of 43 years, Kevin Flanagan; sister, Judy (Al) Wilson; nephew, Ken; nieces, Kelli (Duane) Parker, Cynthia (Justin) Loeb and Tracie (John) Moon; great-nephews, Alec and Ian; great-niece, Emerson; and many loving cousins.
Sharon and Kevin were inseparable, and they continually grew closer. They loved to travel, and they had so many great trips to California, Arizona, Florida and the Caribbean. At home, they solved jigsaw puzzles together and tended their tomato and flower gardens.
Sharon’s love for her family, friends and neighbors was unmatched. Whether sending personalized birthday cards or saying “I love you more” at the end of a phone call, you felt Sharon’s love for you. Everyone is heartbroken at her loss, but will forever treasure so many loving memories.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
A committal service will follow at 1 p.m.
