WARE, Ill. -- Serena E. Miller, 97, died Monday, March 27, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 18, 1903, at Wolf Lake, daughter of David L. and Alice Newbold Miller. She and Elbert Miller were married May 7, 1924, in Cairo. He died Aug. 9, 1966.
Miller was a member of Ware United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School many years. She was a charter member of Union County Home Extension Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Eileen Williams of Lewistown, Muerial Brown of Jonesboro, Delores Hickom of Cartersville, Ga.; two sisters, Fannie Miller of Urbana, Margaret Karraker of Fairview Heights; a brother, Francis Miller of Jonesboro; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. John Prather and Louis Frick officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
