BENTON, Mo. -- Charles Ray "Scotty" Moyers, 69, of Benton died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at his home.

He was born March 25, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, to Charles Eugene and Dorothy Lee Atchley Moyers. He and Vicky Lynn Hobbs were married Feb. 17, 1990, in Cape Girardeau.

Moyers was a member of First General Baptist Church where he was an honorary trustee. He was owner of D&S Carpet in Cape Girardeau more than 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky Lynn Moyers of Benton; four sons, Scott (Lori) Moyers and Patrick (Ramsey) Moyers of Cape Girardeau, William Moyers of Benton, Trent (Joanie) Tanchek of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Delanie (Bud) Finley of Chaffee, Mo.; four brothers, Buford Moyers of Bossier City, La., Ronnie and David Moyers of Jackson, James Moyers of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Elaine Figliolo of Kelso, Mo., and Sharon Davis of Cape Girardeau.

Also 10 grandchildren, Zach Moyers, Hannah Moyers, Max Moyers, Clayton Moyers, Janie Scroggins, Aiden Tanchek, Lauren Ludolph, Erynn Sutter, Rhylee Sutter and Jada Chamberlain.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Teen Challenge or First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
