Funeral for William L. "Scotty" Moody of Everman, Texas, formerly of Cape Girardeau, will be held at noon today at Emerald Hills Chapel in Kennedale, Texas. Burial will be in Emerald Hills Memorial Park.

Moody, 63, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, in Fort Worth, Texas.

He was born March 9, 1937, in St. Louis, son of William L. "Bill" and Mary Lay Moody.

Moody was a recruiter with the U.S. Army in Cape Girardeau in the early 1970s. He retired from the Army, and had worked at Goodwill Industries in Fort Worth. He had been an ROTC instructor in Fort Worth, and a guitarist in St. Louis and Fort Worth.

He was a member of VFW Post 10461 in Everman.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Moody; two sons, Randy Moody of Everman, Patrick Moody of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Melissa Greer of Everman, Shelly Griep of Pevely; two brothers, Mike Moody of Waynesville, N.C., Robert Lindsey of De Soto; three sisters, Debra Fawcett of Las Vegas, Nev., Roberta Schilly of Waynesville, Gloria Courtney of De Soto; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
