Scott Shivelbine, 65, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2018.

He was born April 4, 1953, in Cape Girardeau to the late L.J. "Freck" and Dorothy Janet Powles Shivelbine. Scott was a lifelong resident of Cape Girardeau.

He was a 1971 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.

Scott spent his entire career working in the family business, Shivelbine's Music Store. He was a gifted amateur photographer and was generous in sharing his photos with family and friends. He was also very interested in history, especially the history of Cape Girardeau and was the family historian as well. He'll be remembered for playing Santa for nieces and nephews and the children and grandchildren of close friends.

Survivors include his brothers, Mike (Kathy) Shivelbine and Greg Shivelbine of Cape Girardeau; sister, Laurie (Bob) Bret of Dallas; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Pastor Stan Hargis officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Historical Association of Greater Cape Girardeau Inc. or Old Town Cape.
