Scott A. Licare, 54, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 27, 1958, in St. Louis, son of Vincent F. and Lorraine Bickell Licare. He and Lisa Gerecke were married Sept. 4, 1982.
Scott attended Jackson High School. He was a lifelong Diesel mechanic at Midwest Diesel in Cape Girardeau, primarily working on barges. Scott loved his family, and had a heart for animals, especially his black lab, Jake. He enjoyed his work and being outdoors.
Loving survivors include his wife of 30 years, Lisa of Jackson; a daughter, Kristen Licare and her son, Keaton Licare of Jackson; a son, Travis Licare of Jackson; his father and stepmother, Vince (Liz) Licare of Jackson; mother-in-law, Dorothy Gerecke of Jackson; and a brother, Kerry Licare of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his mother; two brothers, Brian and Mark Licare; and a grandson, Tyren Licare.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to time of service Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
