Scott J. Geringer, 67, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born March 14, 1957, in Cape Girardeau to Sylvester and Hannah Geringer. He and Lena Geringer were married July 22, 2005, in Cape Girardeau.

Scott was a member of the Elks and Harold O. Graul Masonic Lodge No. 672. He was an honorary member of the VFW. He was a proud member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562.

Survivors include his wife, Lena Geringer; four daughters, Melissa Geringer of Crested Butte, Colorado, Tiffney (Dave) Stewart of Vienna, Illinois, Chasity (Travis) Johnson of Chester, Illinois, and Amanda (Matthew) Statler of Cape Girardeau; brother, Rick (Debbie) Geringer of Festus; three stepbrothers, Dan (Dianna) Todt, Steve (Judy) Todt and Jim (Roxanne) Todt of Cape Girardeau; sister-in-law, Geri Geringer of Leopold; stepsister, Brenda Sue Hicks; and 12 grandchildren, Devon, Kaleb, Colin, Gavin, Zac, Peyton, Konner, Kelli, Ashlyn, Lily, William and Emelia.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Ford officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Lymphoma Society.
