CAIRO, Ill. -- Sarah Virginia Walker, 81, of Bardwell, Ky., died Sunday, March 15, 1998, at her home.
She was born Aug. 23, 1916, in Graves County, Ky., daughter of Joseph and Ada Johnson Lee. She first married Wayne Hayden and later married Frank Walker. Both preceded her in death.
Walker was a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
Formerly of Cairo, she retired as librarian at Cairo Public Library. She was a member of Bardwell United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, Cairo Women's Club, and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Walker of Cairo; a son, Charles Walker Jr. of Bardwell; a sister, Betty Converse of Paducah, Ky.; two granddaughters; and several great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Bardwell United Methodist Church. The Rev. Marita Burkeen will officiate.
Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
