JONESBORO, Ill. -- Sarah M. Skelton, 69, of Jonesboro, Ill., died Saturday, Feb. 5, 1994, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

She was born Jan. 28, 1925, at Chicago, the daughter of Julius and Lillian Fischer. On April 10, 1953, she married Melvin L. Skelton in Chicago. He survives of the home.

She was a member of the Jewish Home for the Blind in Chicago and the Union County Community Chorus.

Other survivors include three sons, Benny Skelton of Jonesboro, Phillip Skelton of Dongola, and Donald Skelton of Anna; a brother, Elias Fischer of Wilmette; mother-in-law, Gladys Skelton of Jonesboro; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Jonesboro Cemetery. Sam Goldman will officiate, and Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
