LEACHVILLE, Ark. -- Sarah Marlene Crites, 80, of Leachville passed from this life Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at Monette Manor Nursing Center.
Born at Essex, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Clay and Artie Mae Rea Marberry and was raised in Darling, Mississippi.
She was a 1955 graduate of Darling High School. She was a licensed cosmetologist and was a retired sales clerk from Hechts Clothing Store in Cape Girardeau. She had lived most of her adult life in Cape Girardeau and Darling before making her home in Leachville in 2011. She enjoyed walking, golfing, working in her yard and was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman Crites in 2010.
She is survived by her son, Frankie Turner (Lisa) of Leachville. She also leaves three grandchildren
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at Howard Funeral Service in Leachville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Clay Turner, Cory Turner, Robert Clowers, Johnny Thomas, Bobby Crites and Johnny Hawkins.
