SIKESTON -- Sarah Ann Shaver of Sikeston died Wednesday, April 8, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was 90.
She was born Oct. 16, 1901, in Gatewood, Mo., daughter of Willis A. and Melissa Ann Johnson McCamey.
She worked for 10 years as a seamstress at Graber's Department Store in Sikeston, and she was a member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston.
She first married in 1919, to Rufe Vermilye. He preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1924. She then married Oscar M. Shaver in 1927 in Ingram, Ark. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Loyd Shaver of Sikeston and R.L. Vermilye of Rockford, Ill.; two daughters, Lois Hubbert of Benton and Thelma Davis of Sikeston; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Funeral services begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel. John Hoover and Pat Hogan, ministers of Shady Acres Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
