ULLIN, Ill. -- Funeral service for Samuel L. Hoffmeier of Kansas City will be held at 3 p.m. today at Kansas City Country Club United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis.
Hoffmeier, 76, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 1996, at his home.
He was born Dec. 2, 1920, in Ullin, son of Samuel J. and Mary Ellen Sichling Hoffmeier. He and Margaret S. McLain of Cape Girardeau, Mo., were married Jan. 15, 1949, in Hernando, Miss.
Hoffmeier retired as a captain with the U.S. Air Force. He served three years as an ROTC instructor at St. Louis University, and other assignments worldwide.
Survivors include a son, Samuel Hoffmeier of Kansas City; two daughters, Linda Maniscalco of Lees Summit, Debra O'Hara of Prairie Village, Kan.; a sister, Virginia Brueggeman of Wichita, Kan.; and six grandchildren.
