SAMUEL COLE

Samuel P. Cole Jr., 74, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at his home. He was born June 30, 1926, in Lincoln, Ark., son of Samuel and Eva Lena Knifley Cole Sr. He and Dorothy Ruester were married Oct. 21, 1967. Cole worked at Allied Signal Corp. Samuel P. Cole Jr., 74, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at his home.

He was born June 30, 1926, in Lincoln, Ark., son of Samuel and Eva Lena Knifley Cole Sr. He and Dorothy Ruester were married Oct. 21, 1967.

Cole worked at Allied Signal Corp. (formerly Bendix Corp.) 39 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ in Kansas City, Mo.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a sister, Mary Julia West of Prairie Grove, Ark.; a brother, Otho Cole of St. Peters, Mo.; and 11 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
