Samuel Bell, 70, of 705 N. Spanish in Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 11, 1922, at Sudan, Ark., the son of Knox and Mattie Lucky Bell. On April 2, 1957, he married Annie Townsend in Greenwood Miss. She survives of the home.
He was affiliated with the Baptist denomination, and was an electrician by trade. He worked for 15 years for Superior Electric, and another 15 years for Central Packing Company. Other Cape Girardeau companies for which he worked in clude Pollack Hide and Fur Company, Plaza Tire, and he was a foreman for Goodman Roofing for several years.
Other survivors include five sons, Jimmie, John, Robert and Albert Bell and Montey King, all of Cape Girardeau; six daughters, Verbie Jackson, Shirely, Annie M., Annie G., and Arleather Bell, and Maggie Smith, all of Cape Girardeau; 31 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Two sons and two daughters preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Johnny Thomas will officiate, and burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
