Samuel Richard Kranawetter, 23, of Jackson passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, in a vehicle accident in Fredericktown, Missouri. He was born Nov. 10, 1993, in Cape Girardeau to Richard "Red" and Robin Hoffmeister Kranawetter. Sam was a 2012 graduate of Jackson High School. He worked one year at ARI in Jackson. Samuel Richard Kranawetter, 23, of Jackson passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, in a vehicle accident in Fredericktown, Missouri.

He was born Nov. 10, 1993, in Cape Girardeau to Richard "Red" and Robin Hoffmeister Kranawetter.

Sam was a 2012 graduate of Jackson High School. He worked one year at ARI in Jackson. The past four years, he worked with his family at Kranawetter Transport in Patton, Missouri.

Sam's passion was building trucks for pulling competitions. Last month, he took second place at the Altenburg (Missouri) Fair. He loved spending time with family and especially enjoyed going to the lake.

Loving survivors include the love of his life, Victoria Vines of Jackson; his father, Richard (Vera) Kranawetter of Patton; a brother, Gage Kranawetter of Patton; two stepsiblings, Amanda (Kip) Wolfmeier and their son, Waylon, of Davidson, North Carolina, and Charles (Elizabeth) Armstrong of Patton; paternal grandmother, Rita (the late Alan) Weidner of Jackson; paternal grandfather, Ervin (Marilyn) Kranawetter of Jackson; paternal uncle, Doug (Nikki) Kranawetter and children, Kylie and Kasey Kranawetter, Chris Thompson and Nick Kinder of Oak Ridge; maternal grandmother, Judy Sturm of Milan, Tennessee; maternal aunt, Trish Lacy of Medina, Tennessee; maternal uncle, Ed (Kathryn) Hoffmeister of Cape Girardeau; and many other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Robin Kranawetter, on Oct. 6, 2005.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jim Matthews and Charlie Mangels officiating.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Mid-America Transplant, 1110 Highland Plaza Drive East, St. Louis, MO 63110.
