SALONA WATSON

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Salona C. Watson, 89, of Olmsted died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Meridian Manor Nursing Home in Mounds.

She was born Oct. 10, 1910, in Wyatt, La., daughter of Albert and Ollie Morris Stephens. She and Albert V. Watson were married.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olmsted.

Survivors include her husband; three stepdaughters, Martha Ann McMunn of Villa Ridge, Daisy Brown of Noble, Okla., Erma Ruth Watson of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four stepsons, Lewis Watson of Olmsted, James Watson of South Roxanna, Glenn Watson of Villa Ridge and David Watson of Metropolis; a sister, Eva Rushing of Goldona, La.; four brothers, Lamar and Harvey Stephens, both of Jonesboro, La., John Henry Stephens of Waco, Texas, and Raymond Stephens of Pullman, Wash.; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, a stepgrandson, sister and four brothers.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Joey Dunning officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds.
