DEXTER -- Sallie Ann King, 78, died Friday, Nov. 24, 1995, at the Vintage Villa Nursing Center in Dexter.
She was born in Holiday, Tenn., on June 10, 1917, daughter of the late Giles Vick and Ethel Bond Ellis. She was a member of the Essex community since 1949, and attended Taylor Baptist Church near Essex.
She married Fred B. King on May 7, 1939. He preceded her in death Aug. 25, 1977.
She is survived by two sons: Ray King of Sikeston and Ronnie King of Essex; three brothers: Wilburn Ellis of Harrisburg, Ill., Elmer Ellis of Huntington, Tenn., and Bobby L. Ellis of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four sisters: Mary Massingill and Odessa Downing, both of Dexter, Maedelle Johnson of Corning, Ark., and Genelle Griggs of Harrisburg, Ill.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Earl R. King; a daughter, Mary Ethel King; and three brothers.
Friends may call at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter, with the Rev. James Niederstadt of Malden officiating. Burial will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
