CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ruth Hillsman Hunter Wilson, 100, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019, at Chaffee Nursing Center. She was born Sept. 1, 1918, to the late R.W. and Susie Woodward Hunter in New Madrid County, Missouri. She grew up in East Prairie, Missouri. For the past 12 years, Ruth lived at the Capetown Independent and Assisted Living Facility in Cape Girardeau, where she was lovingly watched over by nieces Kay Sides and Anne Dial...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ruth Hillsman Hunter Wilson, 100, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born Sept. 1, 1918, to the late R.W. and Susie Woodward Hunter in New Madrid County, Missouri.

She grew up in East Prairie, Missouri. For the past 12 years, Ruth lived at the Capetown Independent and Assisted Living Facility in Cape Girardeau, where she was lovingly watched over by nieces Kay Sides and Anne Dial.

She is survived by a grandson, Brett Wilson, and daughter-in-law, Peggy Lee, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wilson, and son, Richard Gerry Wilson.

The family wishes to thank the extraordinary staff at Capetown Assisted Living over the last decade and the Crown Hospice staff during her final days.
