Olive "Ruth" Welsh, 97, of Scott City died Saturday, March 12, 2011, in Evansville, Ind.
She was born July 4, 1913, in West Point, Neb., to Arnold and Ida Piper Miserez. She married Francis Eugene "Gene" Welsh on Sept. 4, 1934, in Concordia, Kan. He preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1978.
Survivors include a son, Al Welsh of Evansville; a daughter, Shirley Carlin of Basehor, Kan.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
