CHARLESTON -- Ruth Stallings Moore, 66, of Charleston died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Mississippi County, the daughter of Nellie Feezor and Marshall O. Stallings. She married John W. Moore Sr. on Aug. 30, 1955. He survives.
Since 1976, she had lived in Houston, Texas, where she was an elementary school teacher. She retired from Security Church Finance Company in August 1992 before returning to Charleston.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Other survivors include her mother of Charleston; two sons, John Moore Jr. of Littleton, Colo., and Steve Moore of Mansfield, Texas; two brothers, Floyd and Martin Stallings, both of Charleston; four sisters, Evelyn Pruitt of Paducah, Ky., Shirley Anderson of Charleston, Mary Drummond of Barlow, Ky., and Carol Knudson of Napierville, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Charleston, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating.
Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
