Ruth Hilda Schomberg of Marthasville, Mo., passed away at her home on Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 3 days.
Ruth was born to Walter William and Ida (nee Rocklage) Rottmann on Nov. 24, 1920, in Marthasville.
She was united in marriage to Wilfred Wilhelm Schomberg on April 13, 1941, in Marthasville. To this union were born five children: David, Dwayne, Donald, Doris and Denise. Wilfred preceded her in death on April 14, 1999. They celebrated 58 years of marriage.
Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ at Holstein and the Women's Guild.
Survivors include three sons, David Schomberg and wife Mary Ruth of Marthasville, Dwayne Schomberg and wife Caren of Washington, Mo., and Donald Schomberg and wife Lesa of Marthasville; two daughters, Doris Ann Lage and husband Wally of Cape Girardeau, and Denise Clemens and husband Kevin of Foristell, Mo.; three brothers, Lester Rottmann of Marthasville, Carl Rottmann of Houston, Texas, and Walter Rottmann Jr. and wife Nancy of Jefferson City, Mo.; a sister, Grace Stohlman and husband Bert of Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Betty Cook Rottmann of Columbia, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many, many friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilfred; a brother, Leroy Rottmann; two sisters, Olene Westhoff and Marie Sprick; and a granddaughter, Julie.
Funeral services are to be held on Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the Immanuel's United Church of Christ at Holstein with the Rev. Jeanne Lischer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of the Nieburg-Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton, Mo.
