Ruth M. Richardson, 93, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Heartland Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Glen-allen, Mo., daughter of William Harrison and Ella Carolyn Patton Jaques. She and Oscar Wilburn Richardson were married Feb. 16, 1940. He passed away July 20, 1997.
Ruth was a homemaker and member of Iona Baptist Church in Oriole.
Loving survivors include five sons, Jerry (Maureen) Richardson of Mesa, Ariz., Charles (Rose) Richardson of Cape Girardeau, Will (Mary) Richardson of Jackson, John (Elaine) Richardson of Cape Girardeau and Joseph (Diane) Richardson of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two daughters, Jacqueline (Fred) Stewart of Cape Girardeau and Yvonne (Gayle) Call of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a sister, Thelma Burdin of Elkhart, Ind.; 20 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Allan Fletchall officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Iona Baptist Church or Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary.
