RUTH PORTLOCK SCHUMACHER

Ruth F. Portlock Schumacher, 87, of Buchanan, Mich. and formerly of Cape Girardeau died Feb. 4, 1993, at the Jordon Nursing Home in Bridgeman, Mich.

She was born Nov. 27, 1925, in Zalma, the daughter of William A. and Martha M. Portlock. On March 17, 1932, she married Leo J. Schumacher, who preceded her in death in December 1945.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Sylvia Chapter, in Buchanan. She formerly worked for the International Shoe Company in Cape Girardeau and as a dressmaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Caroline C. Hayden of Buchanan, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Private graveside service was held at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan, with Swem Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
