Ruth Maxwell, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.
She was born May 30, 1908, at Jackson, daughter of Jesse H. and Mary Ellen Taylor Hale. She and Clyde Maxwell were married Nov. 16, 1941. He died Feb. 7, 1985.
Maxwell was a teacher at Chaffee Elementary School 13 years, and had been a cashier at Sears stores in Memphis, Tenn., and Tucson, Ariz.
She was a member of Mariposa Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Tucson. She was a former past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star in Chaffee.
Survivors include a brother, John Hale of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
There is no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Dr. Larry Gallamore will officiate. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.
