Ruth Ann Markle, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born March 2, 1918, in Seward, Neb., daughter of Herman and Christina Stueck Wergin. She and Keith F. Markle were married July 23, 1937, in Fairbury, Neb. He died Dec. 31, 1983.
Mrs. Markle was a member of First United Methodist Church in Seward, and an associate member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was a member of United Methodist Women, Susanna Wesley Circle, St. Francis Auxiliary and a gift shop volunteer, was involved with Meals on Wheels, and the 4th of July Committee in Seward.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Frances K. and Harry Rediger of Cape Girardeau; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Nancy Markle of DeSoto, Texas, Richard and Ruth Markle of Bear, Del.; nine grandchildren, Cindy Propst of Cape Girardeau, Kathy Sedlacek and Doug Rediger of St. Louis, Michelle Burris of Frisco, Texas, Heidi Downer of St. Joseph, Mo., Heather Markle of St. Louis, Jon Markle of Bear, Jeffrey Markle of Fort Worth, Texas, Jennifer Bentley of Seattle, Wash.; five great-grandchildren, Amber Propst, Tyler Propst, Trevor Propst, Katie Sedlacek and Kelly Sedlacek; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. today. The funeral will be at 7, with Dr. Clayton Smith officiating.
Friends may also call Friday at Wood-Zabka Funeral Home in Seward. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Seward. Burial will be in Seward Memorial Cemetery.
