Ruth Ann Hohler, 99, of LaGrange Park, Ill., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Bethlehem Woods Retirement Community in LaGrange. She was the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth Hohler of Cape Girardeau. Ruth Ann was a member of State and National Educators Associations. Ruth Ann Hohler, 99, of LaGrange Park, Ill., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Bethlehem Woods Retirement Community in LaGrange.

She was the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth Hohler of Cape Girardeau.

Ruth Ann was a member of State and National Educators Associations. She was a 50-year member of Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma (Key Women Educators).

She was a "world traveler," having visited the Americas and many places in Europe, Russia, Egypt, New Zealand, Australia, the Orient and South Pacific islands.

Survivors include three nephews, Norman Harris, Daniel and Jerry Dirnberger; many grand and great-grandnieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer as celebrant.

Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
