RUTH HARTWELL

VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Ruth Hartwell, 90, of Pulaski died Friday, April 4, 1997, at Severin Nursing Home in Benton.

She was born July 6, 1906, at Villa Ridge, daughter of William and Ida Essex Cheniae. She married William E. Hartwell, who died Aug. 7, 1979.

Hartwell was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church at Villa Ridge.

Survivors include three nephews, John Hawkins of West Frankfort, Everett Cheniae Jr. of Willard, Mo., George Cheniae of Lexington, Ky.; three nieces, Beulah Hancock of Fulton, Ky., Rosemary Huntsberger of Etter, Pa., and Mary Hays of Vero Beach, Fla.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Shiloh Church, with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at the church after 1 p.m. Sunday.
