COBDEN, Ill. -- Graveside service for Ruth A. Guthrie of Cobden will be held at 1:45 p.m. today at Cobden Cemetery. The Rev. Clifford Heil will officiate.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 12:30 p.m.
Guthrie, 79, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro, Ill.
She was born Aug. 19, 1923, in Sikeston, daughter of Richard and Nellie Van Gilder Darnell. She and Roy G. "Bill" Guthrie were married Oct. 1, 1940, at Charleston, Mo. He died July 25, 1999.
Guthrie was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Ronnie Guthrie of Anna; two daughters, Sue Greenwood of Kansas City, Mo., Kathy Cochran of Cobden; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
